HMS Warrior 1860 in Portsmouth Harbour, several times a year and perform ceremonial duties
and mount guards aboard and ashore.

The uniform we have adopted is a Blue/Grey
'British Army Cloth' Richmond Depot. jacket, 'Navy Blue' Trousers and a 'Navy Blue' forage
cap. There is not much evidence for enlisted men's marine uniform, so we have used the two
news paper description available as a basis. This is a 'fatigue' rather than a 'Full
dress' uniform. Our accoutrements are black leather waist belt with brass 'Snake clasp',
Cartridge box (worn on waist belt) and Enfield pattern frog for bayonet. Our arms are
three band Enfield rifle muskets with triangular bayonet. |
